Waiting for Baby
- FirstSteps® Educational Series is available in English and Spanish and covers many areas during the pregnancy, including
- Getting Ready for Childbirth
- Beyond Your First Baby
- Breastfeeding and Your Baby
- Big Brothers and Big Sisters
- Pets and Your Baby
- Boot Camp for New Dads—Veteran dads with their babies show expectant dads what its all about
- Buckle Up Baby—Instructors are certified child passenger safety technicians that teach parents how to correctly use and install car seats

Baby Has Arrived
- The Lactation Center offers technical assistance and emotional support for breastfeeding families. They offer free inpatient consultation for women delivering at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital and Methodist Hospital. Free outpatient consultations for ALL women in the community (by appointment only) are also offered along with monthly support groups.
- The Stork’s Nest has every item you need for breastfeeding, playing and clothing your new arrival. Call them at (210) 575-0261 for more information.
After Baby Arrives
- Programs such as “Way to Grow,” “Baby Changes Everything!” and “Mommy & Me” meetings and “Mamacitas” (in Spanish) covers health, safety, and fun projects to do with baby and pre-schoolers. Sign-up by calling the Methodist Healthcare HealthLine at (210) 575-0355 or 1-800-333-7333
- A Caring Touch Massage Therapy will give yourself or someone you love a relaxing massage with one of our massage therapists. Schedule during your pregnancy or after your baby’s birth (with your doctor’s approval). Massage therapy is available to men and women of any age and gift certificates are available!
