It’s a place where children are treated with the special care they need and deserve. Every aspect of our new Children’s Hospital focuses on the health and well being of our children—and on their future. It’s our commitment. And, it is our mission. Opened in October of 1998, the Methodist Children’s Hospital of South Texas*:

  • Is the only pediatric hospital in San Antonio designed and built especially for children Is committed to the private practice of medicine
  • Is affiliated with hundreds of physicians
  • Treats patients from birth to 16 years of age and patients under the treatment of a pediatric physician, as appropriate
  • Treats patients from a 26 county area, as well as other states and countries
  • Is committed to treating every child who comes through the hospital’s doors—regardless of religion, race or ability to pay
  • Has a Children’s Advisory Board comprised of kids familiar with the hospital experience to provide a “voice” for pediatric patients.

  • Is a member of the respected Methodist Healthcare System—the health care provider preferred by most San Antonians
